Glenn Allen

Glenn Allen Thank you for visiting my home page. Some brief information about myself... I was born in Manhattan, NY and raised in Rhinebeck, NY in the Hudson Valley.  I was an excellent student in high school finishing up ~ #12 in my class with an average of ~88.  From there I went to Dutchess Community College, and then SUNY Institute of Technology majoring in Computer/Information Science.

I decided the field of computers would be my career very early in life.  In fact my love of technology started in the 6th grade.  My class went on a field trip to visit the IBM facility in Kingston, NY.  Back then IBM was king in the Hudson Valley area.  They had 3 successful plants - Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Fishkill.  About half of my classmates parents worked for IBM and the other half had jobs that supported those people.  Anyway I was flabbergasted by what I had seen at the IBM plant.  Rows and rows of large machines, computer disks the size of tires, powerful printers that used special paper, etc.  I knew from that day forward that computers were the future; and I set up my education accordingly.

Currently I reside in Liverpool, NY (Syracuse area) and have been working in the Information Technology field (programming) since I have graduated.  I find that designing and programming software can be frustrating, however very rewarding when the project is done.

My ultimate goal is to be challenged every day doing something that is meaningful and useful.  Hopefully I'll be able to put my energy and enthusiasm to work for you.
